The Full Family
Alan and Deb Full settled on this beautiful 80 acres of land over 30 years ago. Its gorgeous rolling hills and fertile soil make this an excellent place to grow a vineyard and a pumpkin patch! Alan and Deb have three children: daughter Emily (Tim) Zweber and two sons, Ryan (Jill) Full and Wesley (Mouse) Smestad; along with seven grandchildren: Erik, Jonnie, Hannah, Eik, Madison, Ulla, and Brigham

Vineyard
As Alan and Deb neared retirement age, they decided to get serious about their dream to own a vineyard (because there was no way Alan would grow old in a rocking chair). The Vineyard was created in 2010. Family and friends help with the vineyard upkeep and harvest. They grow three varieties of grapes; varieties include: Frontenac Gris, Sabrevois and Marquette. Crazy Legs sells wholesale grapes to local wineries. They do not make any wine, we leave that to the experts! Are you interested in participating in the fall grape harvest? Why Crazy Legs?
Alan’s nephew started calling Alan “Crazy Legs.” We are not sure why, maybe it is because he is always on the move, or maybe it’s his long legs? Who knows, but it is a nickname that has stuck and it was a fun name for the Vineyard!

Pumpkins
Pumpkin growing has always been a tradition in the Full family. Large, small, decorative, and gigantic pumpkins have been raised annually for family and close friends. In 2013, Alan & Deb’s son, Ryan, decided to grow pumpkins on a larger scale and sell them wholesale to other local farms with roadside stands, or to retailers. Ryan has an undergrad degree in Agriculture Engineering and Horticulture, so this seemed right up his alley! Any extra pumpkins that were left over were set at the end of the driveway for sale to people driving by. Ryan had a lot of success growing quality pumpkins and his customers noticed and continued coming back year after year! To keep up with the demand and his new customers, every year he increased his planting acreage as well as the seed varieties. The same story was happening at the roadside stand at the end of the driveway…people kept coming back to purchase pumpkins, and they would bring or tell their family and friends too! Squash and other fall decorative items were also added to the roadside stand. Fast forward to 2021, our roadside retail stand had grown astronomically, and we wanted to give our customers, friends and family more pumpkin-related activities so they could enjoy their day with us. So, we planted a pick-your-own pumpkin patch and offered hayrides out to the patch. Our guests are also now treated to Ryan’s homemade pumpkin cannon that launches a pumpkin for hundreds of yards! This year, we added a 5-acre corn maze with a spiral staircase leading up to a 16-foot lookout tower in the middle of the maze. We also planted the most acreage and an even larger variety of pumpkins this year - over 80 different varieties of pumpkins and squash planted! Ryan, his wife Jill, and his dad Alan plant and harvest all of our pumpkins on the farm.

Here at Crazy Legs our true passion is pumpkins! We grow almost 70 different varieties of pumpkins with an enormous selection of size, shape, color, and texture. We have miniature, small, medium, large, extra large and extra EXTRA large pumpkins. Looking for different colors of pumpkins? We have you covered... orange, white, blue and green, pink, red and orange, and yellow and tan. You won't find a larger selection anywhere near by!

RETAIL - the pumpkin roadside stand opens shortly after Labor Day Weekend and is open through October, 31st! The self-serve roadside stand is open from 9am-dusk daily. We accept, Cash and Venmo.
